Job summary

RVE (an Ardurra company) in Secaucus, NJ is seeking a Mechanical Engineer (MEP) to oversee HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection design for facilities projects from concept through construction, mentoring junior staff, and coordinating with architects and clients.

The ideal candidate has 5 to 15 years of experience in HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems, a PE license or the ability to pursue one, and strong communication and writing skills to support project schedules and QA of drawings

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline required.
• PE license required or ability to pursue one.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proactive, takes ownership of assignments and delivers.
• Ability to work in groups and individually.
• Proficient with Word and Excel applications.

Responsibilities

• Support the design of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems for commercial, industrial, and educational projects.
• Perform and review mechanical calculations, equipment selections, and system layouts.
• Oversee hydronic piping design, ductwork, and equipment sizing.
• Develop and manage project schedules, deliverables, and client expectations.
• Ensure quality and accuracy of construction documents, drawings, specifications, and calculations.
• Coordinate with cross-discipline teams, architects, and clients.
• Mentor junior engineers and designers, providing technical guidance.
• Perform site visits and field surveys as required.
• Assist in proposal development and department growth initiatives.
