Realta Fusion Inc. in Madison, WI is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the mechanical design and integration of beamline components, ion source assemblies, and HV/RF hardware for a first-of-a-kind fusion pilot plant.

You will collaborate with physicists and technicians to commission and operate pioneering experiments in a dynamic startup environment. The ideal candidate has 5–10+ years in accelerator-related mechanical design, strong CAD/CAE skills, and hands-on experience with UHV

Formación

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or related field or equivalent experience.
• 5–10+ years in mechanical design for ion sources or accelerator components.
• Proficiency with CAD and simulation tools for structural, thermal, EM analysis.
• Hands-on experience with UHV design, vacuum hardware and troubleshooting.
• GD&T expertise for tight-tolerance, high-reliability hardware.

Responsabilidades

• Lead mechanical design and integration of beamline components and accelerator equipment.
• Design high-voltage hardware with insulators and feedthroughs for HV systems.
• Own RF component design for accelerator systems with RF engineers.
• Perform thermal, structural, EM, and vacuum analyses to meet targets.
• Develop detailed drawings and specifications for precision machining and fabrication.
• Support assembly, integration, testing, HV conditioning, and RF commissioning.
• Collaborate with physicists, RF/electrical engineers, and controls teams.
