Job summary

Mainspring Energy is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to own defined-scope mechanical tasks for the Linear Generator platform. You will design hardware, support analysis and testing, and drive work through validation and release while coordinating with engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, test, and service teams.

The ideal candidate has hands-on design, analysis, and testing experience across multiple design cycles and can independently own projects with guidance when needed.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering or a similar field, with experience beyond academic projects.
• Experience designing, analyzing, testing, and iterating mechanical hardware across project cycles.
• Ability to independently own defined-scope engineering work with clear deliverables.

Responsibilities

• Own defined-scope mechanical engineering tasks and moderate-complexity projects with clear objectives.
• Design moderately complex parts, assemblies, fixtures, or subsystems with manufacturability and safety in mind.
• Use calculations, simulations, tests, and data to validate designs and guide improvements.
• Develop and execute test plans, interpret results, and document findings for release decisions.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, manufacturing, and service teams to resolve issues.
