Mainspring Energy is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer in Menlo Park to own significant mechanical projects for our Linear Generator platform, from concept through validation and production release.

You will drive robust designs for complex parts and subsystems, balance performance with manufacturability and cost, and lead cross-functional teams to successful outcomes. This onsite role offers stock options and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Mechanical Engineering with demonstrated ownership of mechanical design work.
• Experience designing, testing, iterating, and releasing hardware across cycles.
• Ability to own a significant subsystem with cross-functional dependencies.
• Strong fundamentals in mechanical design, assemblies, thermal/ fluid systems, packaging.

Responsibilities

• Own significant mechanical projects from requirements through validation and release.
• Develop robust designs for complex parts, assemblies, fixtures, and processes.
• Build project plans, validation strategies, schedules, and risk assessments.
• Use analysis, testing, data, and judgments to make design decisions.
• Identify and mitigate risks across schedule, manufacturing, quality, and suppliers.
• Lead cross-functional discussions, design reviews, and technical decisions.
