Job summary

McCarl's is seeking a senior Mechanical Design Lead to direct teams delivering industrial EPC projects in the United States. You will oversee mechanical deliverables, advise on standards, and coordinate 3D modeling with the design team to ensure quality and schedule adherence.

Responsibilities include leading design reviews, supporting proposals with estimates, and mentoring junior engineers and designers. Office-based with opportunities for collaboration across Beaver Falls, Warrendale, or

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering required.
• Professional Engineer license is a plus.
• Experience with heavy industrial EPC projects.
• Knowledge of design codes: ASME, ASCE, ACI, AISC, IBC.
• Ability to organize, train and lead colleagues.
• Strong interpersonal skills at all levels.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Inventor, Fusion, CAESAR and MS Office tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design deliverables for industrial EPC projects.
• Advise on design principles and standards.
• Develop and revise engineering standards and specs.
• Coordinate 3D model development with the design team.
• Lead design reviews and lessons learned sessions.
• Provide project estimating support for proposals.
• Manage multiple projects and prioritize work.
• Provide technical oversight and mentorship to junior staff.
• Monitor and report project status weekly.
• Maintain strong internal/external customer relationships.
