Job summary

CMTA, a Legence company, seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer with 7+ years of consulting engineering experience to design energy-efficient HVAC systems for buildings. This onsite role is based in our Louisville office and involves working directly with clients from concept through completion.

You will mentor staff, review submittals, and guide project teams in best practices for high-performance buildings. A Bachelor's in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering and an active EIT/PE are preferred,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering required.
• 7+ years of experience designing HVAC systems in consulting engineering.
• EIT certification or PE license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design HVAC and mechanical systems for energy-efficient buildings.
• Manage projects from conception to completion, ensuring compliance with engineering standards.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and reports.
• Attend meetings with clients, owners, and architects to develop project requirements.
• Provide guidance to staff engineers on best practices for energy-efficient design.
• Review contractor submittals for compliance with contract documents.
• Evaluate, select, and apply engineering techniques and procedures for project tasks.
• Collaborate with engineers and project personnel to resolve design issues and provide technical reviews.
