Job summary

Collins Aerospace in Largo, FL seeks a senior mechanical engineer to design, analyze, and document hardware for DoD and government programs. You will join a multi-disciplinary IPT with system, hardware and software engineers to advance next-generation circuit card assemblies, electronics assemblies, and reflector antennas.

The role requires U.S. citizenship, the ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance, and onsite work in Largo, FL.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and developing hardware from concept definition through production or product support.
• Demonstrated experience in mechanical design, product development, material selection, and manufacturing processes.
• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) with minimum 5 years experience or an Advanced Degree with at least 3 years experience.

Responsibilities

• Design, analyze, and document mechanical components and assemblies in line with system requirements.
• Support production and suppliers during product integration; interface with IPT and other disciplines to develop solutions.
• Work with limited supervision to meet schedule, financial, and technical goals.
• Participate in design reviews and trade studies to drive sound technical decisions.
• Mentor and guide less experienced engineers.
