Job summary

Midrex Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design of systems and equipment for Direct Reduction plants and new technology initiatives. The role requires strong leadership, design, and project coordination across disciplines.

The candidate will oversee mechanical analyses, develop conceptual designs, and support purchasing, inspections, and aftermarket activities. A BS in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering and 10+ years in a technical setting are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years experience in an industrial or technical environment, preferably related to steel industry.
• Excellent mechanical engineering fundamentals and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform designs and analyses for mechanical systems with guidance from a Senior Mechanical Engineer.
• Develop conceptual designs and translate them into manufacturable drawings.
• Lead mechanical design effort for projects, directing engineers and designers and reviewing drawings, calculations, and vendor documentation.
• Provide technical support to Aftermarket, Inspections, and Purchasing with vendor submittals and on-site inspections.
• Develop specifications and requisitions to support purchasing and vendor evaluation.
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project goals.
