Job summary

Jabil is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to develop and maintain CAD models, BOMs, specs, and manufacturing documentation for mechanical assemblies and enclosures. You will provide DFM/DFX input and lead production readiness activities while driving improvements across the product lifecycle.

This role supports remote or Austin, TX work locations, with up to 30% travel. Bachelor’s in Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering required; 5–8 years in related fields.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial/Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering or related field; master’s preferred.
• 5–8 years of relevant industrial/manufacturing engineering experience.
• Experience with PFMEA, design for assembly, fixtures and tooling, and production readiness.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop, sustain, and improve assembly processes for mechanical products and enclosures.
• Evaluate product flow, material delivery, line layout, and workcell optimization.
• Perform time studies, capacity analysis, and line balancing to improve throughput and cost.
• Design ergonomic workstations, fixtures, tools, and material handling methods.
• Review and update CAD models and manufacturing documentation for manufacturability and production readiness.
• Lead or support PFMEA and root-cause analyses for yield and cost improvements.
