Job summary

Jabil seeks a Principal Mechanical Design Engineer to advance data centre infrastructure, focusing on metal structures, frames, pipes and fabrication for power and cooling systems.

You will design CAD models, perform FEA, collaborate with electrical and thermal teams, mentor engineers and drive DFM improvements while ensuring regulatory compliance. Travel up to 30% domestically/internationally.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
• 8+ years of mechanical design experience in data centre, industrial or power systems.
• Strong CAD/FEA skills and familiarity with metal fabrication.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical frames, enclosures and support structures for data centre power and cooling products.
• Perform advanced structural analysis using FEA to validate integrity under loads.
• Create detailed CAD models and fabrication drawings including weldments and sheet metal parts.
• Lead design reviews and collaborate with electrical and thermal teams.
• Develop BOMs, specifications and ECOs; drive DFM and cost optimisation.
• Interface with suppliers and customers to resolve fabrication issues.
