Job summary

Array Tech, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Engineer III to own design of components and subsystems, driving lower cost, higher reliability, and broader applications. You will use CAD, FEA, DFMA/DFMEA and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet program targets.

The role involves creating DRDs from MRDs, planning tests, leading RCA efforts, and guiding production documentation through design controls. Occasional travel and some evening/weekend hours may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 7+ years in mechanical design and development.
• 5+ years hand calculations.
• 5+ years design of structural components and hardware.
• 5+ years FEA, DFMA and design for cost.
• 5+ years using 3D CAD software.
• 5+ years defining design validation tests.
• 2+ years working with Stage Gate Product Development.
• 3+ years SolidWorks.
• 4+ years Microsoft Office.
• Willingness to travel within the USA and globally.

Responsibilities

• Take design responsibility for components and sub-systems.
• Explore alternate designs for cost reduction and quality.
• Guide cross-functional teams to meet targets.
• Coordinate with departments to resolve resource conflicts and mitigate risks.
• Define scope and manage change control with estimates.
• Report program status to management.
• Create DRDs from MRDs.
• Plan tests and interpret results to verify requirements.
• Lead RCA on components and sub-systems.
• Develop design concepts using SolidWorks and DFMA/FEA.
• Collaborate with designers for CAD models.
• Develop timelines and cost estimates; track performance.
• Generate design history/docs per company requirements.
• Work with Quality to develop inspection/test plans for supplier qualification.
• Assess safety, reliability, risk; coordinate development schedules.
• Oversee testing and analysis to ensure product safety.
• Drive designs from concept to production and field support.
• Travel to project sites and suppliers as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
