Job summary

FW Murphy Production Controls, a brand of Dover Precision Components, seeks a Mechanical Engineering Lead at our Rosenberg, TX facility (with potential based at San Antonio, TX). This role focuses on mechanical design for throttle systems and engine-related components, guiding the design team and coordinating with cross-functional groups.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in mechanical engineering and product development, strong SolidWorks skills, and a solid grasp of GD&T and DFx principles

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering; work experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.
• 7+ years’ experience in mechanical engineering and design for product development.
• Strong proficiency in CAD software, particularly SolidWorks.
• Strong understanding of mechanical design principles including GD&T and tolerance analysis.
• Experience applying Design for Manufacturing principles.
• Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial engineering environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and improve mechanical systems for FW Murphy products.
• Create 3D models and drawings using SolidWorks.
• Lead throttle system and engine-related mechanical design.
• Provide technical directions to product design drafters.
• Perform tolerance analysis, stress analysis, and design validation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for integrated development.
