Job summary

Dover Precision Components, hiring for FW Murphy Production Controls, seeks a Mechanical Engineering Lead to advance design for product development at the Rosenberg, TX facility (with option for San Antonio for the right candidate).

You will design, analyze, and guide mechanical systems and components, lead CAD efforts in SolidWorks, and drive manufacturability with DFMA and GD&T concepts while growing a small engineering team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering; work experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.
• 7+ years’ experience in mechanical engineering and design for product development.
• Strong proficiency in CAD software, particularly SolidWorks.
• Strong understanding of mechanical design principles including GD&T and tolerance analysis.
• Experience applying Design for Manufacturing principles.
• Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial engineering environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and improve mechanical systems and components used in FW Murphy’s products.
• Create and maintain detailed 3D models and drawings using CAD software, particularly SolidWorks.
• Lead development and improvement of throttle control components and engine-related mechanical systems.
• Conduct mechanical analysis including tolerance stack-ups, stress analysis, and design validation.
• Apply DFM and DFA to improve manufacturability and reduce production complexity.
• Provide technical direction and lead design reviews with cross-functional teams.
