ARCO/Murray Engineering seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the mechanical design scope for design/build projects in Downers Grove, IL. You will guide the full design, from concept to turnover, and apply ASHRAE load calculations while generating construction documents using Revit or AutoCAD.

The role requires 7–20 years of mechanical/plumbing design experience and a bachelor’s degree in a related field.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering or related field.
• Experience using Revit and AutoCAD.
• Knowledge of codes, standards, and design principles for mechanical and plumbing systems.
• Ability to work on multiple projects at once.
• Comfortable with working in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage the design process for mechanical and plumbing systems for a variety of building types.
• Guide and review the design from concept design to turnover and operation.
• Apply building codes, standards, and project requirements to mechanical/plumbing design.
• Perform load calculations using ASHRAE approved methods for different project types.
• Coordinate with design and construction teams to meet client criteria.
• Generate permit and construction documents using Revit and/or AutoCAD.
• Support project pursuits and conceptual design to showcase design/build value.
• Assist during construction with RFIs, submittals, and field challenges.
• Develop standards, procedures, and training for the group.
