Job summary

Lyntris seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead hardware development across radar sensors, unmanned systems, and payloads. You will guide architecture, assess design maturity, and mentor teams, ensuring producibility, environmental performance, and production-readiness.

The role emphasizes technical authority, cross-functional collaboration, and close work with customers, partners, and suppliers in a fast-paced defense environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; advanced degree preferred.
• 15+ years of mechanical subsystem R&D, design, integration, or oversight.
• Experience leading hardware development and contractor oversight.
• Defense systems or radar/unmanned payloads experience preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and risk assessment skills.
• Willingness to develop new technical skills as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical architectures, designs, packaging, and interface definitions.
• Provide technical oversight of subcontractors and external partners.
• Guide trades, perform design reviews, and ensure producibility and test readiness.
• Support integration, checkout, troubleshooting, and field demonstrations.
• Contribute to verification plans, environmental qualification, and transition to production.
