Job summary

Lyntris is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical architecture, packaging and subsystem integration for defense sensor and mission systems. You will guide design trades, review subcontractor work, and mentor teams across internal and external partners.

The role requires extensive experience in mechanical engineering leadership, familiarity with CAD tools, and a track record of delivering hardware-ready designs for complex systems in demanding environments.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field; advanced degree preferred.
• 15+ years of mechanical subsystem experience across design, development, integration and production transition.
• Technical authority for complex mechanical, electromechanical, sensor or defense system projects.
• Experience overseeing subcontractor and supplier execution with review of data packages and drawings.
• Strong communication, leadership and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Guide technical approaches and ensure mechanical solutions meet system requirements.
• Develop and mature mechanical architectures, packaging concepts and interface definitions.
• Review subcontractor designs, provide technical oversight and drive mitigations.
• Support integration, testing, verification planning and transition to production.
• Engage with customers, partners and internal teams to shape hardware development.
• Contribute to proposal activities and technical documentation.
