Job summary

RTX in Tucson, AZ is seeking a Sr. Mechanical Engineer for the Air Launched Effectors program. The role covers full program life cycle from early development through production support and sustainment, supporting US Government and international customers.

Responsibilities include mechanical design, tolerancing analysis, DFMA improvements, and collaboration with Raytheon factories and suppliers. Requires 5+ years in a related field or an advanced degree, and ability to travel to facilities as

Qualifications

• Requires STEM degree with 5+ years experience or an advanced degree.
• Experience in ANSI/ASME Y14.5 GD&T and tolerance analysis.
• Experience with Creo (Pro/E) or similar 3D solid modeling software.

Responsibilities

• Own technical tasks and serve as a prime contact for complex mechanical problems in design, manufacture, integration and production sustainment.
• Communicate with cross-disciplinary teams and suppliers to analyze, model, and document the TDP and compliance.
• Mentor junior engineers and lead small teams across multiple functions and disciplines.
• Work autonomously as the responsible engineer for major hardware subsystems; lead teams when needed.
• Perform mechanical design, development, and documentation of components and sub-assemblies for defense equipment.
• Collaborate with factories and suppliers on new product integration and process improvements.
• Perform tolerance analyses to ensure form, fit, and function as designed.
