Job summary

RTX is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer for its Air Defense Ground Equipment team in Massachusetts, onsite in Tewksbury/Andover. You will lead mechanical design and system integration for defense platforms, working across IPTs and supplier locations.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in mechanical design, strong CAD/PDM skills, and the ability to manage tasks to schedule and budget. Travel up to 10% is possible; security clearance is required for this DoD role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in STEM and at least 5 years of relevant experience.
• Experience across concept to production and support life cycle.
• Experience in mechanical design, materials, manufacturing processes, or related areas.
• Experience with CAD tools and product data management (PDM) systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and document components and end items for defense systems.
• Serve as technical focal point on small mechanical or cross-functional teams within IPT.
• Support product integration at domestic and international factory and supplier sites.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and develop design solutions.
• Independently manage tasks, schedules, budgets, and technical goals.
• Participate in design reviews and trade studies to inform decisions.
• Apply mechanical problem-solving expertise in a fast-paced environment.
