Job summary

SSOE is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer - Data Centers to lead mechanical design for data center facilities, including HVAC, piping, and critical systems, across multiple locations. The role collaborates with in-house engineering and architecture teams to ensure scope, schedule, and quality meet demanding standards.

This senior position offers a hybrid or remote work arrangement, a competitive salary range of $130k–$170k per year, annual bonus eligibility, employee ownership opportunities

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited program.
• PE Licenses in the US or ability to become registered in additional states.
• 12+ years of mechanical engineering experience, data center design preferred.
• Knowledge of HVAC, piping, hot/cold aisle containment, and building systems.

Responsibilities

• Acts as mechanical discipline project lead in multi-discipline team with client engagement.
• Manage scope, schedule, and budget for data center design projects.
• Develop plans, drawings, and models for piping, HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection.
• Coordinate with other disciplines and ensure timely, accurate deliverables.
• Perform site visits, resolve design issues, and lead quality reviews.
