Job summary

SSOE is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer - Data Centers to lead mechanical design efforts for high-performance data center facilities. You will guide multi-discipline teams, coordinate with clients, and ensure adherence to codes and industry standards.

Preferred candidates have 12+ years in mechanical engineering, data center experience, and a PE license. Proficiency in Revit, strong leadership, and willingness to travel are required as projects span multiple locations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
• PE license and ability to register in additional states.
• At least 12 years of mechanical engineering experience with data center design.
• Knowledge of HVAC, chilled/condenser water, air handling, containment, and piping systems.
• Familiarity with local codes and international standards; Revit experience.
• Strong leadership and communication skills; valid driver's license and passport.

Responsibilities

• Lead the mechanical discipline on data center projects with multi-location teams and client engagement.
• Ensure scope, schedule, and budget alignment; manage technical resources.
• Develop plans, drawings, and models for piping, HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and clean rooms.
• Maintain communication with project team and client; coordinate with other disciplines.
• Perform quality reviews and handle design deviations and change management.
• Travel to sites as required; mentor junior staff and participate in proposals.
