Job summary

Equinix, Inc. seeks a Design Principal, Engineering Development (Mechanical), to lead global mechanical design decisions for a datacenter portfolio. You will oversee Reference Designs, evaluate new products, and support regional teams while aligning with customer requirements and country standards.

You will collaborate with Architectural and MEP partners to ensure cost-effective, high-performance designs across regions, guiding procurement and design processes for excellence.

Qualifications

• 7+ years’ experience in a Design MEP Firm or design team for mission critical facilities.
• Experience with global/regional design practices and AMER/EMEA/APAC regions is highly desirable.
• Spoken and written English proficiency is essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide global mechanical engineering direction for Equinix design through Reference Designs.
• Evaluate new products and engineering approaches for incorporation into Reference Design.
• Support regional design teams with implementation of Reference Design on projects.
• Guide Major Capital Equipment team in portfolio-wide procurement of mechanical equipment.
• Engage with customers to align design requirements with Reference Design configurations.
