Job summary

HDR Engineering is actively seeking a Mechanical/Senior Mechanical Engineer to join a top-tier practice in the Tech, Media and Telecom space. The role focuses on mechanical design for data centers and mission-critical facilities, coordinating with clients, PMs, electrical teams, architects, and other engineers.

The ideal candidate will have PE licensure, experience in commercial/institutional facilities, and strong leadership abilities to mentor junior engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Previous experience in mechanical system design of commercial or institutional buildings.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license (PE or P.Eng).
• Experience in commercial or institutional facilities.
• Proficient with MS Office, Trane TRACE or similar software, and manufacturer selection tools.
• Experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firm.
• Active participation in an employee-owned culture is required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the mechanical design team through schematic design to contract documents.
• Lead code compliance reviews with various governing agencies.
• Manage workload to meet project schedules.
• Conduct on-site work sessions with project managers and other disciplines.
• Review documents for cross-discipline conflicts and write specifications.
• Coordinate addenda, RFIs, CPRs and change orders and integrate changes.
• Provide construction contract administration as needed.
• Perform QA/QC on other Mechanical staff work.
• Perform other duties as needed.
