Job summary

HDR is seeking a Mechanical/Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our growing Tech, Media and Telecom practice. The role centers on mechanical design for data centers and mission-critical facilities, coordinating with clients, PMs, and cross-discipline teams to deliver from feasibility to construction documents.

Preferred candidates have a PE license and multiple location options across the US, with mentoring responsibilities and active participation in HDR's employee-owned culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Previous experience in mechanical system design of commercial or institutional buildings.
• Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license.
• Experience in commercial or institutional facilities.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the work of the mechanical design team through schematic design and contract document phases.
• Attend reviews with governing agencies for code compliance and ensure schedule adherence.
• Develop feasibility reports, construction documents, specifications, calculations, and RFI responses.
• Perform QA/QC on the work of junior engineers and CAD technicians.
• Support project managers and integrate with other disciplines on site.
