Job summary

SpaceX in College Station, TX is seeking a Sr. Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical, piping, HVAC, and utility systems design and construction for our facility. You will coordinate with engineers, vendors, and project managers to deliver projects from concept to activation.

This hands-on leadership role requires a Bachelor's in mechanical engineering (or related), 5+ years of large-scale project experience, and strong experience with ASME B31.3/B31.9, CAD tools, and field execution.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or other engineering discipline.
5+ years of professional experience with the design and build of large commercial or industrial-type projects.
Experience with mechanical/process piping/HVAC system design and/or project execution.

Responsibilities

Lead a project team of engineers, consultants, and contractors through the engineering, procurement, and construction process
Manage design, development, and issuance of drawings, documentation, and reports for large facility projects
Write, negotiate, and manage construction contracts with subcontractors across multiple disciplines
Lead and/or contribute to HVAC system design for various facilities
Prepare plans, details, specifications for piping, HVAC, and general piping systems
Resolve design and construction conflicts in the field with multiple parties
Oversee project schedule accuracy and milestone reporting
