Job summary

Whitman, Requardt & Associates, LLP in Richmond, VA is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our Building Design Group. You will design and oversee mechanical systems from concept through construction, mentor junior staff, and help deliver sustainable, cost-effective solutions for diverse projects.

The ideal candidate holds a ABET-accredited degree (Master's preferred), 5–10 years’ experience, a Virginia PE preferred, and proficiency with AutoCAD, Revit, and HVAC design software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field from an ABET accredited program.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• 5-10 years of experience in mechanical engineering, preferably in the consulting industry.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license in the commonwealth of Virginia preferred.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and HVAC design software.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
