Job summary

Nesco Resource, LLC is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer for a well-established Long Island manufacturer undergoing a growth phase. You will lead design and development of batteries, chargers, and energy storage systems, with emphasis on injection-molded and sheet-metal components for manufacturability.

Lead and mentor a team while collaborating with management, electrical engineers, and manufacturing staff to transition prototypes to full-scale production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 10+ years hands-on experience in product development and engineering production.
• Strong proficiency with SolidWorks and experience with metal and plastic injection molding.
• Battery packaging experience is a plus.
• Excellent communication and decision-making skills.
• Customer-focused with technical capacity.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with management and cross-functional teams to design and develop new products.
• Use SolidWorks to create designs for systems, assemblies and components.
• Create detailed drawings and schematics with configuration control.
• Develop sources for mechanical system components.
• Perform structural and thermal analyses on designs.
• Lead battery system prototypes through transition to production.
