Job summary

Form Energy in the United States is hiring a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join the Core Technology Hardware team. You will engineer supports for battery test vehicle manufacturing lines and establish build line equipment and workflows with cross-functional teams.

This role emphasizes design leadership, process improvements, and mentoring the manufacturing R&D team as we scale production of breakthrough energy storage technology.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
• Hands-on design and build experience.
• Proficiency in mechanical CAD tools, project planning software, and PDM/ERP systems.
• Experienced in medium to high-volume manufacturing lines of electromechanical products.
• Strong problem-solving, safety, rigor, and speed balance.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop novel designs of mechanical and electromechanical manufacturing work stations.
• Drive manufacturing line bringups as products evolve or new test vehicles come online.
• Lead technical assessment of R&D build processes for continuous improvement.
• Triage line capabilities against new product revisions and custom R&D experiments.
• Mentor the manufacturing R&D team in repeatable manufacturing lines for green energy tech.
• Establish standards for equipment design, vendor management, and process documentation.
• Identify and mitigate manufacturing risks through design reviews and DFMEA/PFMEA.
