Job summary

CONVERGIX Automation Solutions is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer in Minnesota to lead projects from concept through completion, driving them with minimal supervision and resolving obstacles proactively. The role interfaces with cross-functional teams, clients, and stakeholders to translate complex concepts into actionable details.

You will mentor engineers, ensure mechanical design quality, and drive design reviews while staying within scope, time, and budget.

Qualifications

• Significant mechanical engineering leadership experience (8–10+ years) in capital equipment and custom automation.
• Post-secondary Engineering degree from a recognized faculty.
• Demonstrated technical leadership with design analysis, risk assessment, and qualification.
• Excellent communication to present to internal teams, customers, and vendors.
• Ability to mentor engineers and lead cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Steer mechanical direction of projects with cross-functional input.
• Liaise with customers to understand needs (commercial and technical).
• Translate complex concepts into clear technical information for audiences.
• Ensure design solutions meet functional requirements and customer needs.
• Maintain budget and schedule adherence with PM support.
• Oversee mechanical design execution through full project lifecycle.
