Job summary

Bio-Techne in San Jose, CA, is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead design and development of analytical instruments and accessories. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to ensure prototypes meet specifications, drive manufacturability, and support product introduction, with a focus on reliable, compliant hardware.

You will contribute to advanced mechanisms, tolerances, and system-level optimization, while mentoring teammates and communicating designs across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with 5–7 years of industry experience.
• Experience designing mechanisms and products that meet prototype and commercial requirements.
• Strong system-level thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with tolerances, manufacturability, and transfer to manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop analytical instruments and accessories.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet product requirements and standards.
• Create 3D models, 2D drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation.
• Support manufacturing equipment and processes for product introduction and field support.
