Bio-Techne is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead development and support of analytical instruments. Report to the Mechanical Engineering Hardware Manager and collaborate with scientists and engineers across projects from concept to manufacturing.

Role spans new product development, manufacturing fixtures, and field support. Travel up to 5% domestically and internationally; strong emphasis on teamwork, innovation, and problem-solving.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with five to seven years of industry experience (or Master’s degree with three to five years).
• Experience in life sciences, diagnostics, medical devices, or related field.
• Demonstrated design experience for mechanisms and products from prototypes to commercial.
• Strong system-level thinking and cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop analytical instruments and accessories.
• Deliver best-in-class products by collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Iterate prototypes to meet requirements and ensure compliance.
• Create 3D models, 2D drawings, BOMs, and protocols/reports.
• Support transfer to manufacturing and scaling of production.
• Engage with vendors to ensure manufacturability and cost targets.
