Job summary

Raytheon, based in El Segundo, CA, seeks a Sr. Mechanical Engineer for the Radar Antenna Design II section. You will engage in electronics packaging design across antenna, receiver, exciter, processor and power supply subsystems, supporting hardware from concept to production.

Responsibilities include design, testing, and documentation using CAD tools and close collaboration with senior engineers. Qualifications include ANSI drawing standards, GD&T, and airborne packaging experience; CREO

Qualifications

• Experience with ANSI drawing standards.
• Experience with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerances).
• Experience with electronic packaging for Airborne applications.
• High-frequency enclosure design, EMI shielding and thermal management are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support on major programs and interface with Lead Mechanical Engineers and Chief Engineers to support design objectives.
• Lead smaller project teams through design development, ensuring procedures are followed in creating technical data packages.
• Develop unit design concepts from requirements and perform design trades.
• Develop technical solutions to a wide range of complex problems.
• Complete detailed layouts and design documentation using CAD tools.
• Support suppliers who fabricate components and assemblies.
• Understand Engineering Change Release and work within Product Data Management system.
• Be a Responsible Engineering Authority (REA) for a subsystem for program assignment.
