Job summary

Positron AI seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to own the mechanical, thermal-mechanical, and enclosure design of our AI inference platforms in Spokane Valley, WA. You will drive from concept through volume production with external partners, ensuring high-density systems meet performance and manufacturability targets.

You will collaborate with contract manufacturers, perform thermal and structural analysis, and lead DFx reviews to reduce cost while maintaining reliability.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering with 7+ years in electromechanical/enclosure hardware.
• Proven 3D CAD, drawings, GD&T, and thermal/structural simulation.
• Experience with rack-mount/high-density packaging and supplier management.
• DFx, DFA, and FMEA to reduce cost and improve manufacturability.
• Ability to write mechanical specs and coordinate across teams.

Responsibilities

• Own mechanical design of enclosures, chassis, and carrier-board integration for rack-mount systems.
• Lead thermal-mechanical design, heatsinks, airflow, and structural simulations.
• Interface with contract manufacturers and ODMs through EVT/DVT/pilot to production.
• Drive DFx practices and cost-reduction initiatives.
• Develop fixtures and packaging, and manage test plans.
