Job summary

AeroVironment, Inc. in Simi Valley is seeking a Project Engineer III to oversee technical deliverables across design, analysis, prototype and production.

You will work with chief engineers, subsystem leads and project managers to ensure on-time, on-budget completion while advancing development processes and tools. Responsibilities include coordinating cross-discipline teams, developing subsystem specs, supporting prototypes and external partners, and guiding risk management and status tracking

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related engineering field required or equivalent
• Minimum of 5–8 years of related technical experience in product development
• Proven experience with full product development lifecycle from concept to production
• Experience working with integrated product teams
• Strong organization, facilitation and negotiation skills
• Ability to break down a project into subsystems and create development plans

Responsibilities

• Improve product development processes using lessons learned and best practices
• Coordinate cross-discipline teams to complete projects on time and within budget
• Develop subsystem specifications and performance evaluations
• Support prototype builds, suppliers, and external design services
• Drive subsystem development to meet system requirements
• Manage day-to-day technical aspects, reviews, risk and status tracking
• Introduce tools to improve engineering excellence
• Resolve diverse technical issues with creative solutions
