AeroVironment is seeking a Sr. Staff Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical design, testing and packaging for high altitude aerospace electronics. The role focuses on producing mechanical devices, thermal management, and manufacturing methods for demanding environments.

Ideal candidates have 12–15 years in mechanical engineering, strong SolidWorks/ANSYS experience, and the ability to work with subcontractors on mid-size development projects.

Qualifikationen

• Requires Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 12–15 years in mechanical engineering, 7+ years in production rotating electrical machines or packaging solutions.
• Experience writing mechanical subsystem requirements per MIL-STD 961D or equivalent.
• Proficiency with CAD/CAE tools: SolidWorks, ANSYS, ANSYS Icepack.

Aufgaben

• Lead thermal, structural, dynamic and fluid analyses for electronics equipment.
• Lead testing and data collection in lab and field.
• Develop mechanical drawings and tolerances; implement assembly/test procedures.
• Develop and verify test plans to confirm designs; supervise others as needed.
• Work independently on unique issues and determine methods for new tasks.
