Job summary

CesiumAstro, Inc. is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical designs for space-grade hardware. You will drive electronics packaging, thermal management, and structural analyses across development phases, from concept through field support.

The role requires collaboration with electrical engineers, aerospace integrations, and qualification to MIL-STD-810 and DO-160G standards, with strong CAD/FEA tooling and effective communication for customer reviews and proposals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in design and analysis of avionics or ruggedized embedded electronics packaging, including thermal, vibration, and stress dynamics or aircraft structures.
• Experience with CAD and FEA tools (SolidWorks, Ansys) and CNC manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical solutions for CesiumAstro products through all development phases.
• Present design review materials to customers and leadership, and participate in proposal-writing efforts.
