Job summary

Baltusrol Golf Club seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer (Aerospace/Defense) to lead aerospace/defense electronics hardware design from concept to release. You will drive NPI and sustaining efforts, partner cross-functionally, and ensure manufacturability and reliability of complex systems.

The role requires 4+ years in mechanical design, SolidWorks proficiency, and experience with DFMEA, simulations, and manufacturing transitions.

Qualifications

• 4+ years mechanical design experience.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks 3D CAD and PDM.
• Experience with Flow, Thermal, or Vibration simulations.
• Working knowledge of PCB and circuit card assemblies.
• Experience transitioning designs to manufacturing with a DFM, DFA, and DFT mindset.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfortable in a small-company environment and wearing multiple hats.
• Must meet U.S. Person requirements due to controlled data and defense compliance regulations.

Responsibilities

• Lead conceptual and detailed mechanical design aligned with applicable aerospace and defense product requirements.
• Support NPI and sustaining engineering initiatives.
• Conduct DFMEA and failure analysis and implement design improvements to reduce risk and improve reliability.
• Develop renderings, simulation models, and effort estimates to support proposals and new business activities.
• Help refine engineering processes and procedures.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners to achieve system-level objectives.
• Independently own projects of varying size and complexity, driving execution through completion.
• Participate in customer design reviews and qualification test activities (up to 10% travel).
