Job summary

HL Mando Corporation in Auburn, MI is seeking a Mechanical Engineer III – Advanced Product Design and Manufacturing to design, develop, and optimize robotic actuator systems for humanoid, industrial, and service robotics.

You will lead cross-functional teams through prototype development, DFx considerations, and production readiness, applying CAD tools like SolidWorks, Creo, CATIA or NX, with a focus on manufacturability, quality, and cost. Some travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 5+ years in mechanical product development or advanced manufacturing.
• Familiarity with CNC, injection molding, casting, heat treating, and additive manufacturing.
• Experience procuring prototype components from domestic and international suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical components and assemblies for prototypes and pre-production products.
• Create and release drawings, BOMs, and procurement packages.
• Evaluate and implement new manufacturing technologies to improve quality and cost.
• Support DFM, DFA, DFR, APQP and product development activities.
• Coordinate prototype builds and manage design iterations with cross-functional teams.
• Research actuator technologies and precision manufacturing trends.
