Job summary

Hl Mando America Corp is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the design of mechatronic and mechanical products from concept through production in Auburn, MI. You will translate system requirements into robust designs and support development activities across programs.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering and 10+ years of design and development experience, with GD&T and manufacturing process knowledge. CATIA/NX/SolidWorks experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 10+ years of mechanical product design and development experience.
• Knowledge of GD&T and manufacturing processes.
• Proficient with CAD tools and MS Office.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical and mechatronic products using engineering principles.
• Translate requirements into component and assembly designs.
• Create and modify 3D models and assemblies in CAD.
• Develop drawings and apply GD&T requirements.
• Perform tolerance analyses and stack-up studies.
• Document designs with reports and BOMs.
• Conduct DFMEA activities.
• Evaluate packaging for vehicle environments.
• Develop and execute validation and test plans.
• Support APQP activities and production readiness.
• Manage development activities to meet timing, cost, and performance targets.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and customers.
