Qualifications

  • FE and PE certifications highly desired.

Responsibilities

  • System Analysis and Optimization: evaluate mechanical systems to identify improvements and provide upgrade recommendations.
  • Project Leadership: lead engineers, guide design and implementation of new or modified systems.
  • Design and Planning: collaborate across teams to design high-quality systems with detailed project plans and cost/time estimates.

Job Description

We are looking for a talented and experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead our engineering team in designing and developing advanced systems and equipment. In this role, you will be at the forefront of engineering innovation, overseeing complex projects and ensuring that all designs and systems meet our safety, efficiency, and quality standards. You will play a key role in shaping our engineering strategies and optimizing our processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • System Analysis and Optimization: Evaluate existing mechanical systems, equipment, and processes to identify areas for improvement, focusing on safety, efficiency, and productivity. Provide expert recommendations for system upgrades or enhancements.
  • Project Leadership: Lead a team of engineers, guiding them in the design, development, and implementation of new systems or modifications to existing systems. Foster a collaborative environment that encourages creativity and technical excellence.
  • Design and Planning: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to conceptualize and design high-quality systems that align with project objectives. Develop detailed project plans, including cost and time estimates, to ensure timely and within-budget project completion.
  • Quality Assurance: Oversee the testing and validation phases to ensure new designs and changes meet required specifications and standards. Participate actively in troubleshooting and adjusting systems based on test results.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive records of all engineering processes, including designs, project plans, progress reports, and performance metrics. Generate detailed documentation for future reference and knowledge sharing.
  • Mentorship and Development: Mentor junior engineers, providing guidance on best practices in mechanical engineering and fostering a culture of continuous learning within the team.
  • Compliance and Safety: Ensure all engineering activities comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies. Conduct risk assessments and implement safety protocols as needed.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field is required; a masters degree is preferred.
  • Certifications: FE (Fundamentals of Engineering) and PE (Professional Engineer) certifications are highly desired.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a proven track record of leading engineering projects and teams.
  • Skills:
    • Leadership: Strong leadership and team-building skills, with experience in mentoring and guiding a diverse team of engineers.
    • Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of mechanical design, analysis, and simulation software. Familiarity with CAD, FEA, and other engineering tools.
