Spectrum Control in Marlborough, MA is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design of embedded systems and integrated microwave assemblies. You will use 3D CAD, CFD, and FEA to develop rugged mechanical modules and work with cross-functional teams through the product lifecycle.

The role requires a BS in Mechanical Engineering, 5+ years of experience, and proficiency in SolidWorks, CAD tools, GD&T, and MIL/VITA/NASA standards.

Qualifications

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering required.
  • 5+ years of engineering experience.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks, Draftsight, AutoCAD.
  • Experience with SolidWorks PDM, Flow Simulation, and SolidWorks Simulation.
  • GD&T standards knowledge.
  • MIL-STDs, VITA Standards and NASA Standards preferred.
  • Root Cause Analysis skills.
  • DFM principles knowledge.
  • Strong team player with excellent communication.

Responsibilities

  • Design robust mechanical modules and integrated microwave assemblies using 3D CAD.
  • Develop heat sinks and enclosures for 3U and 6U VPX modules per VITA standards.
  • Use CFD to simulate thermal performance and ensure thermal requirement compliance.
  • Perform FEA for frequency, stress, strain, and fatigue life analyses.
  • Create fabrication drawings with GD&T; prepare BOMs and test reports.
  • Assist in data package preparation and contract deliverables.
  • Support cross-functional teams from Manufacturing, Procurement, and Quality.
  • Collaborate with systems, PCB layout, and RF engineers across product lifecycles.
