Job Description

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer at CRB, you'll have the opportunity to work within an integrated Architecture, Engineering, and Construction firm capable of executing ONEsolution integrated project delivery work. Experience collaboration and continuous learning amongst subject matter experts spanning mechanical, electrical, plumbing, process, and automation engineering; architecture and lab planning; procurement, estimation, virtual design & construction, health & safety, and construction management. This diversity allows us to provide innovative & impactful solutions to the Life Sciences and Food & Bev industry, where speed, quality, and creativity are critical.

This role offers flexibility, allowing the right candidate to work locally in a hybrid capacity or remotely, with occasional onsite collaboration.

How will I contribute?
You will oversee discipline deliverables and budgets on projects of varying complexity. You will coordinate with architects, engineers, clients, construction managers, subcontractors, and vendors. You will manage multiple tasks, establish priorities, and guide others on projects. You may act as the mechanical point-of-contact for clients and other disciplines, support project code analysis, and develop project documents such as calculations, reports, construction drawings, and specifications. You will ensure system designs are coordinated from conception through completion and mentor early-career engineers in HVAC, plant, and utility systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Interface with clients and external partners
  • Plan and direct work, manage project budgets for small to medium projects
  • Support proposal development under supervision
  • Identify non-compliant conditions during site walks and surveys
  • Develop construction drawing packages and specifications
  • Lead system design programming and master planning with support

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with Mechanical Option
  • 10+ years of experience, preferably in a design firm
  • Advanced experience with engineering calculations and systems design
  • Knowledge of mechanical/plumbing/fire codes and building standards
  • Experience conducting field surveys and supporting field reporting

Additional Qualifications

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit preferred
  • Professional licensure
  • Sustainable design credentials (LEED, WELL) preferred
  • Intermediate troubleshooting experience
