Job summary

Textron Systems is seeking an experienced Mechanical Designer to support strategic weapon system development for our Advanced Programs team at Hill AFB, Utah. The role requires a minimum of 10 years of mechanical design experience, familiarity with GD&T, and strong CAD skills, with Siemens NX preferred.

You will produce designs and documentation per ASME and MIL-Spec standards, collaborate across engineering teams on DFMA, and manage engineering drawings through configuration management.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of mechanical design experience.
• Experience with Siemens NX CAD software and GD&T.
• Familiarity with ASME Y14 standards and MIL-SPEC.
• Ability to visualize components in 3D and perform tolerance analysis.
• Strong communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Develop imaginative, thorough, practicable technical solutions to a wide range of difficult Mechanical Design problems.
• Perform detailed design of electro-mechanical devices, subsystems, cabling, and equipment including modeling, drafting, and tolerance analysis in direct collaboration with an integrated engineering team.
• Prepare high-quality formal engineering documentation (layouts, drawings, 3D models, parts lists, ECN’s) per ASME Y14.100 and MIL-Spec standards.
• Applies ANSI Y14.5 dimensioning and tolerancing, military standards and specifications, manufacturing and assembly processes.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to research, analyze and implement design solutions with DFMA.
