Job summary

Cuhaci & Peterson Architects, Engineers & Planners, Inc. in Orlando seeks a Senior Mechanical Designer III to perform advanced engineering calculations and develop construction documents in line with codes and standards.

Ideal candidates have a BS in Mechanical Engineering with 8+ years of experience (EIT preferred) or an associate degree with 10+ years in mechanical design. The role emphasizes leadership, client education, and cross-disciplinary coordination.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with 8+ years experience; EIT preferable.
• Or an associate degree with minimum 10 years' experience in mechanical design under a PE supervision.
• 10+ years of practical experience in mechanical fields is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Able to complete the job requirement for Mechanical Designer III successfully.
• Excellent knowledge of discipline codes and building codes.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Leadership to educate clients on design and project requirements.
• Meet with Project Engineer/Manager to discuss scope, schedule and budget.
• Prepare design budgets and schedules with PM/PE.
• Estimate discipline man-hours for design tasks.
• Lead and supervise designers to complete projects on time and budget.
• Implement system types and produce construction documents per requirements.
• Review designs with other disciplines for coordination and final design.
