Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 3 years of experience; EIT preferable.
• Or an associate degree with minimum 5 years of experience in HVAC/plumbing design under supervision of a PE.

Responsibilities

• Attend preliminary meetings and help evaluate scope of work.
• Independently prepare or direct layout, drawings, schematics and specifications with minimal supervision.
• Perform calculations and design HVAC/plumbing systems.
• Provide technical information and assistance to project engineer or team leader; evaluate system feasibility.
• Assist final plan checking; respond to RFIs and code comments.
• Coordinate design work with other disciplines and utilities coordination with public entities.
• Review shop drawings for conformance to plans; conduct field observations and ensure quality installations.
• Mentor Engineering Designers I and II; meet fast-paced deadlines while maintaining quality.
