Job summary

Oklo Inc in Oak Ridge, Tennessee is seeking a Mechanical Designer to turn concepts into manufacturable hardware for our nuclear fuel recycling tech. You will develop detailed 3D CAD models, fabrication drawings, and prototype components for high-temperature, corrosive environments.

Working with engineers and machinists, you will ensure designs meet DFM/ DFA principles, maintain documentation, and support prototype testing and iterative improvements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of experience developing mechanical designs and fabrication drawings.
• Proficiency in GD&T, tolerancing, and BOMs.
• Ability to translate engineering concepts into manufacturable hardware.

Responsibilities

• Develop detailed 3D CAD models and manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks.
• Produce fabrication, assembly, weldment, and machining drawings for production.
• Collaborate with engineers, machinists, and vendors to optimize designs.
• Support prototype fabrication and revise drawings with feedback.
• Maintain engineering documentation including BOMs and CAD files.
