Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Senior Mechanical Designer to develop detailed 2D drawings and 3D models for multi-discipline design projects in our Government Services Department. You will guide junior designers and coordinate with engineering teams to deliver complete design packages.

The role requires strong proficiency with AutoCAD, Inventor or SolidWorks, and the ability to obtain US government security clearance. Prior experience with piping, GA drawings, and GD&T is valued.

Qualifications

• Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain US Government security clearance.
• Must have an Associate's Degree in drafting or a high school diploma with drafting coursework plus relevant experience.
• Ten or more years of drafting experience are required.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Inventor, SolidWorks or similar to produce 2D/3D drawings and models.
• Experience reviewing mechanical equipment, interfaces and deliverables.
• Ability to interface and communicate with multi-discipline engineering/design teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop 2D drawings and 3D models for multi-disciplinary design projects.
• Guide junior-level designers and coordinate with project teams.
• Generate design packages using 2D/3D CAD tools and coordinate detailed design phases.
• Provide guidance to other designers and draftsmen.
• Plan and deliver design deliverables including GA drawings, piping isometrics, and equipment layouts.
