AeroVironment, Inc. in California is seeking a Mechanical Designer/Drafter III to design components, parts and assemblies and produce engineering drawings and documentation.

You will collaborate with engineers and manufacturing to ensure manufacturability and apply GD&T and ASME Y14.5 while managing design changes within the configuration management system. Formación

• High School diploma or GED equivalent is required
• 8-10 years of related experience in a mechanical design and drafting position
• CSWP certification or higher
• Understanding of industry design & documentation standards (GD&T, ASME, configuration management, etc.)
• Excellent working knowledge of the Drawing Requirements Manual (DRM)
• Excellent working knowledge of ASME Y14.5 standards
• Expertise in SOLIDWORKS CAD
• Experienced and proficient with SOLIDWORKS PDM
• Competence in designing composite aerospace structures & related composite manufacturing processes
• Experience with electro-mechanical systems, mechanical assemblies, electronics packaging, composite parts, tooling & fixtures, and wire assemblies

Responsabilidades

• Design mechanical parts, components & assemblies, including composite parts, metallic, and non-metallic
• Creates and reviews engineering drawings and documents that conform to company and industry drawing standards
• Analyzes manufacturing tolerances and fabrication methods to help ensure part/assembly manufacturability
• Applies Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance
• Specifies materials, finishes, and workmanship callouts in accordance with industry specifications
• Works on assignments that are moderately difficult, requiring judgment in resolving issues or in making recommendations
• Other duties as assigned
