AeroVironment is seeking a Mechanical Designer/Drafter III to support designs of mechanical parts and assemblies, and to create engineering drawings, change orders, and BOMs in a fast-paced aerospace environment.

You will collaborate with engineers and manufacturing to modify designs, document changes, and ensure conformance to industry standards using SOLIDWORKS CAD and PDM, with emphasis on electro-mechanical systems and composite structures.

Formación

• College degree (Associates or better), vocational or technical training in related discipline.
• 15+ years of related experience in a mechanical design and drafting position.
• GD&T certification.
• Hands on UAV experience preferred, especially lightweight RC aircraft or other miniature robotics systems.
• Experience with a Product Lifecycle Management system (Fusion, Agile, Arena, Windchill, etc.)

Responsabilidades

• Designs mechanical parts, components & assemblies, including composite parts, metallic, and non-metallic
• Creates and reviews engineering drawings and documents that conform to company and industry drawing standards
• Analyzes manufacturing tolerances and fabrication methods to help ensure part/assembly manufacturability
• Applies Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerance
• Specifies materials, finishes, and workmanship callouts in accordance with industry specifications
• Works on assignments that are moderately difficult, requiring judgment in resolving issues or in making recommendations
• Other duties as assigned
