Qualifications

• Two-year technical degree in an applicable discipline and minimum six years of related experience.
• Ability to read and interpret multi-disciplinary drawings and specifications.
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks and engineering software such as TRACE, HASS, SKM.
• Strong communication, organization, and QA/QC mindset.

Responsibilities

• Processes drawings received from the architect into models that can be used by the design team
• Coordinates initial project set up and ensures current model via architect
• Prepares electronic drawings with accuracy, neatness, and efficiency using industry software
• Develops design approaches and concepts with project engineer
• Implements design requirements as related by design team
• Performs system design layout and sizing for assigned projects
• Assists in studies, load calculation, equipment selection
• Reviews shop drawings, records changes, keeps disciplines informed
• Attends project update meetings with clients and team members
• Maintains coordination with owners, architects, other disciplines
• Communicates design requirements and answers questions from contractors during bid/construction phases
