Job summary

SSR in Nashville, TN is seeking a Senior Mechanical Designer to convertArchitect/engineering designs into detailed drawings using industry software, maintain high quality standards, and coordinate with team and clients. On-site position requiring on-going communication and on-site observations as needed.

The ideal candidate will have a two-year technical degree with six years of experience, proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, and knowledge of codes and standards.

Qualifications

• Two-year technical degree in an applicable discipline plus six years relevant experience.
• Three years of experience with large scope projects.
• Revit experience preferred.
• Capable of reading and interpreting plans from other disciplines (i.e., architectural, structural, civil, plumbing, electrical, mechanical).
• Proficient knowledge of AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, and discipline specific engineering software (i.e., TRACE, HASS, and SKM).
• Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
• Knowledge of state and/or local construction guidelines and applicable codes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Convert drawings from architects into usable models for the design team.
• Coordinate initial project setup and maintain current models through the architect.
• Prepare electronic drawings with accuracy and efficiency using industry software.
• Develop design approaches in coordination with the project engineer.
• Perform system design layout and sizing for assigned projects.
• Assist in studies, load calculations, and equipment selection for the project design.
